Newell's TRAVEL named Best Performing Agent 2010

Newell's TRAVEL has been named Best Performing Agent 2010 in a national award scheme and was awarded the title by the Global Travel Group.

A group of 9 managers from Newell's were flown to Manchester to fly the flag for the South West at the glittering award ceremony. The gong recognises strong sales and customer service. The Global Travel Group represents 750 independent travel agents in the UK.

Roger Hawke, managing partner, said: "This recognition is largely down to our customer service, which brings us a lot of repeat business". Working with the Global Travel Group means Newell's Travel can be very competitive on the high street and often we can match or even beat holidays you find on the internet. Roger also added, "Working through the recession has been a huge challenge for independent travel agencies like us, but this award goes to show that if you focus on your core business values you can continue to perform".

This prestigious award joins Newell's TRAVEL previous awards as South West Travel Agent of the Year in 2002, 2004 and 2008 as well as National Cruise Specialist of the Year in 2008.

Your local travel agents, Newell's Travel have once again been voted 'South West Travel Agent of the Year'.

The announcement and presentation evening took place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, where partners Roger and Helen Hawke of Newell's Travel were present to receive the award.

The Travel Agent Achievement Awards recognise excellence and achievement among the top performing travel agents in the UK. Now in its 14th year, the Acheivement Awards are held annually in April of each year and are considered a very prestigeous title within the travel industry.

Newell's Travel have now been awarded the regional title for 'South West Travel Agent of the Year' three times, in 2002, 2004 and now again in 2008

The evening continued where Newell's went one better this year... taking home their first NATIONAL award... National Cruise Specialist of the Year!
