Capital of Portugal, Lisbon has a very distinctive character with its Gothic cathedrals, majestic monasteries and bright yellow trams.

Celebrate a sparkling Christmas Day aboard Ocean Countess before arriving in Lanzarote, an island of extraordinary moon-like landscapes best viewed from the slopes of Fire Mountain. Dominated by Mount Teide, the highest mountain in Spain, Tenerife is the largest of the Canaries. In Santa Cruz, be tempted by the shops and restaurants and visit the delightful tropical gardens and aquarium at Loro Parque.

Next stop is La Gomera, Christopher Columbus' last port of call before crossing the Atlantic in 1492. Here nature has created beautiful forests, lush vegetation and dramatic ravines. Adorned with white painted houses and a myriad of tropical flowers, Madeira will delight you. Finally we call at Leixoes, gateway to historic Oporto on the banks of the Douro River and home of the famous Port wine, before seeing in the New Year in style. Relax at sea and continue to enjoy the stylish entertainment programme on your return to Tilbury and Falmouth.
