On the 2nd of June 2024, 10 courageous members of our team took to the skies for an exhilarating charity skydive in support of our local heroes at Cornwall Air Ambulance. We are thrilled to announce that we surpassed our fundraising goal!
Our initial target was to raise £7,000, but thanks to your incredible support, we raised over £9,400! Combined with the £2,200 we had already collected this year, our total raised for the charity now stands at an impressive £11,600. This achievement truly soars above and beyond our expectations.
The Big Day
The day our team had been nervously anticipating had finally arrived. Greeted by beautiful blue skies, sunshine, and the friendly team at The Cornish Parachute Club, our team began to prepare for their jump. They flew up 10,000 feet into the sky above Cornwall and one by one, leaped from the plane. Free-falling and then gliding gracefully down, all the while knowing that every moment of their adventure was contributing to a vital cause. It was an unforgettable experience they shared together, each ticking a huge box on their bucket-lists.
“I was absolutely petrified, and it was definitely out of my comfort zone, however it was by far one of the best things I have ever done and even better that we raised such a lot of money for a great charity!” Maree Osborne, Store Manager in Tavistock and Bodmin.

The Vital Role of Cornwall Air Ambulance
Cornwall Air Ambulance is a critical service for our community, providing essential emergency medical care and rapid air transport across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The funds we’ve raised will impact the continuation of this crucial service, ensuring that help can reach those in need swiftly and efficiently.
Julia Jeffery, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “We’d like to say a massive well done and thank you to everyone who took part in the charity skydive, taking to the skies is a very fitting way to help raise money to keep your helicopter flying! The fantastic amount that the team raised will go towards making sure the crew can continue to help those who are critically ill or injured across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, in their greatest moment of need. We are incredibly grateful to Newell’s Travel for all their support and fundraising over the past year, which in total could fund several potentially lifesaving missions.”
