Natasha Pellowe, our Travel Consultant from Newquay boarded Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas for a Seminar at Sea:
Smooth Seas and Surprising Lessons
“I recently had the amazing opportunity to attend Royal Caribbean’s Seminar at Sea. My first international training event and a truly unforgettable experience. Over four nights aboard the incredible Allure of the Seas, I got to explore life at sea while expanding my cruise knowledge during onboard training sessions.
Getting There: Smooth Sailing from the Start
Flying with EasyJet from Gatwick in the early hours was smooth and stress-free. Check-in and security at the airport were quick and efficient, and our flight even landed in Barcelona ahead of schedule. A comfortable Royal Caribbean coach transfer took us straight to the port to begin our adventure.
Welcome Aboard: The Allure of the Seas
The Allure of the Seas, part of the Oasis Class, truly lives up to its name. Outside of our training sessions, I had the chance to experience just how much this ship offers. From thrilling zip lines to Splashaway Bay for little ones, and two FlowRiders for surf lovers, the adventure doesn’t stop.
When the sun goes down, the ship comes alive with unforgettable entertainment from ice shows to the dazzling Aqua Show at the ship’s aft on Deck 5. Plus, with more bars than you can count, there’s always somewhere new to unwind.
Port of Call Highlight: Exploring Cinque Terre
Docking in La Spezia, Italy, I made the most of my free time by independently visiting two of the Cinque Terre villages : Vernazza and Monterosso.
Vernazza is a colourful, charming fishing village that’s often named one of Italy’s most beautiful spots. A short walk uphill rewards you with picture-perfect coastal views.
Monterosso is the largest of the five towns, offering a sandy beach, great local food, and a relaxed vibe, perfect for beach lovers or those looking for an easier stroll.
The local rail network was easy to use and affordable, making these stunning villages very accessible from the port.
Accommodation: A Ship That Truly Has It All
The Allure of the Seas is like a floating city with nearly 2,750 cabins across 20 categories from interior staterooms to luxury suites. Whether you want an oceanview, a balcony overlooking the Boardwalk, or something in between, there’s an option for every traveller.
Final Thoughts: An Easy Ship to Recommend
After experiencing the Royal Caribbean and Allure of the Seas first-hand, it’s now much easier to recommend this cruise line with confidence. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, a solo guest, with kids or in a multigenerational group, there is something onboard for every travel style. Royal Caribbean offers incredible variety paired with genuine service and Allure of the Seas is proof of that.
