I have been working as a Travel Consultant for fifteen years, and the last three years have been at Newell’s Travel in Hayle.

Before I started working as a Travel Consultant, I had completed my Leisure and Tourism course at college at the sweet age of eighteen.

After that, I took my first steps in the travel industry by working at Thomas Cook and had worked there for almost four years. I took my next step in the industry by moving to the West Midlands and working as a travel consultant at an independent travel agency. Then one day, I decided to achieve my dream of moving to Cornwall. Once I did this, I sought out the best travel to work for down there, and that is when I found Newell’s Travel.

The best thing about working in travel is not only learning about unfamiliar and unique destinations but getting stuck into forming complex itineraries. And when a returning customer comes back to you telling you how great their holiday was – nothing beats the feeling. Travel is all about making life-lasting memories, and I feel privileged that I get to be a part of that.

Favourite destination:

My passion for all things adventurous (as well as travel) has taken me to many breath-taking places around the world. I have surfed in Sri Lanka, Morocco & Barbados and have snowboarded in many European mountains.

One of my most memorable moments is waking up in Siem Reap on my 30th Birthday. I watched the sunrise over Angkor Wat and then rode a bike around the various temples in Cambodia.

To note, the USA offers so many options to suit a wide variety of choices. There’s a lot to discover in America – from theme parks, mountains, rivers, beaches, cities, national parks, and so much more.

Last holiday:

My last Holiday was a snowboarding holiday to St Johann Austria, was awesome to get back on the slopes!

Where next?

I have a huge list of destinations to tick off my bucket list, and I know that I will achieve one of them this year.

Snowboarding in Banff and Lake Louise in Canada and exploring American canyonlands and national parks in America is high on my list.

Travelling to Indonesia, Japan, Kerala, New York, Italy, and Costa Rica are other things that I would love to achieve; the list just goes on!

Get out to the world and explore!
