SARAH SKEWS
SALES CONSULTANT
Previously, my title has been Senior Consultant (the senior title makes me sound old, however!)
When I was younger, I studied Leisure and Tourism at college, which drove me to become a travel agent. Now I’ve been working as one ever since.
The travel industry has changed so much over the years, with the development of technology and the constant new choices of operators to find various types of holidays.
Newell’s Travel in Saltash is such a friendly place to work, and the lovely support we have had from our customers over the last couple of years has proved this. We are gaining new customers who would like to book with Newell’s Travel. It’s convenient for them to pop into our store within the town or contact us via phone and/or email.
Countries visited:
Dublin, Spain, France, USA, Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Belgium, and Bulgaria.
Favourite destination:
Barcelona. The country has a lovely climate, boasts beautiful architecture, and emits a great atmosphere.
There are just so many things to see and do, from art to sports activities and visits to marinas and beaches.
Last holiday:
My last holiday was last year, in the UK (Leeds). My family are cricket crazy, so we went to watch England play at Headingly and visited the beautiful city (Northern people are lovely!)
My last overseas holiday was to Zante. Me and my husband had a had a wonderful honeymoon there. We enjoyed the boat trips, local food, night life, and the beach.
Where next?
An educational/FAM Trip to Jamaica- it was a massive shock when I won this at a work event in April. I couldn’t be more excited about the trip!
I’m also going on a family holiday to Australia this year. It would be a holiday of a lifetime, truly a dream come true.
Travel tip:
Advise your bank where and when you are travelling. This is to avoid them from cancelling your card whilst on holiday for unusual/frequent transactions in a foreign country.
And always give yourself plenty of time to get through security. Each flight has their own check-in desk, but everyone has to go through the same security – time flies when you are at an airport!
