I started work with Lets Go Travel in 2001 after completing a two-year course at Cambourne College studying Leisure and Tourism.
In my twenty years of working in travel, I have only ever worked in two offices. First Truro for a total of fourteen years working under various companies, from Let’s Go Travel to when Newell’s Travel acquired three additional offices.
This was when I took the move to my current position into being a member of Newell’s Travel Newquay team.
Countries visited:
USA, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, South Africa, Barbados, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Egypt.
I have also visited many ports in the Mediterranean, the Baltics and the Caribbean during some cruise holidays.
Favourite destination:
One of mine has to be South Africa because of the diversity it can offer.
From the time being spent in their bustling cities to the peacefulness of their Winelands, it gives you the independence to enjoy the stunning scenery of somewhere as beautiful as the Garden Route, yet not forgetting the unforgettable experiences you can have from staying within private game reserves with their magnificent wildlife.
I would also have to say the USA because of the endless chances of you having a great trip there – regardless if it would be on a touring/escorted break, a solo trip, or a city break. There is so much to do! You could visit one of their theme parks, walk around one of the many national parks, or have a relaxing beach trip in one of the tropical states.
Where next?
Next year in February, I have big plans to travel to Florida to take in Walt Disney World’s delayed 50th Anniversary celebrations.
Last holiday:
My last holiday was to Tenerife, pre COVID back in October 2019 with the family.
Tenerife has so much to offer and so I would like to think that we did the holiday justice. We had hired a car for three days and had enjoyed exploring the island.
