I joined the Hayle team as a trainee in April 2002 after completing a two-year Travel & Tourism course at Cornwall College.
After six months in Hayle, I transferred to the Truro office, where I spent nine years as a trained Travel Consultant. In March 2011, I got promoted to the Redruth office manager, where I have been ever since. Tourism course at Cornwall College. After six months in Hayle, I transferred to the Truro office where I spent nine years as a trained Travel Consultant and in March 2011 I eventually was promoted to be the manager of the Redruth Office, which is where I have been ever since.
Countries visited:
I have been lucky enough to travel to various places throughout my career so far, such as New York, the Red Sea, Dominican Republic, Budapest, Monaco, Lanzarote, and various Greek Islands.
Favourite destination:
One of my most treasured memories was when I travelled through the Canadian Rockies in 2019 through Banff, Jasper, boarded the Rocky Mountaineer and took a rail trail to Vancouver and Whistler.
It was such a great experience that I can’t recommend it enough – a ‘must-visit’ destination for anybody’s bucket list.
Last holiday:
Ever since the hit of the pandemic and the reduction of staff in the travel industry, I haven’t been able to travel very far over the past two years.
However, my family and I have been able to do a few long weekends away in the UK, with my son’s favourite UK holiday being Legoland!
But I cannot wait to get back on a plane again and experience more of what this amazing world has to offer.
Where next?
A family holiday to Lanzarote.
This will be my son’s first experience abroad and we will have the the best time seeing him loving life in all of the splash pools and entertainment.
Travel tip:
Always book an airport lounge if you can. It gets your holiday off to a relaxing start!
