BEVERLEY TOWNSEND

MANAGER

I started work with ECC Travel Services in Victoria Square, Truro in 1981, after leaving St Austell College. After eight years, ECC Travel Services was taken over by Newell’s Travel, where I have worked ever since.

After eighteen years in Victoria Square, the business moved to larger premises in Lemon Street.

The challenge of recent times has seen a reduction in our staff levels. Despite this, we take pride in our service levels and the care taken with dealing with clients regarding their enquiries, needs, and requirements.

Favourite destination:

I love Greece. Greek people are very welcoming and the food is just delicious. Cruising to the Norwegian Fjords just felt so clean and fresh.

Countries visited:

Norway – The beauty of the Fjords, the clean air, and the sound of nature were amazing. Stavanger is great to wander around, along with Bergen. And to see the Midnight Sun was something special.

To note, the USA offers so many options to suit a wide variety of choices. From theme parks, mountains, rivers, beaches, cities, national parks, and so much more, there is a lot to discover in America.

Last holiday:

My last holiday was to East Devon, which was in a dog-friendly, self-catering lodge and was peaceful with beautiful scenery, but with plenty to see and do.

Where next?

I’m planning to travel to Devon quite soon.

Travel tip:

My travel tip would be to speak to your local travel agent who will help you with ideas about your planning, entry requirements, excursions, sightseeing, car hire, rail journeys, cruises, and more.

They have their experience to draw on and have the knowledge, connections and ability to source the ideal tour operator to fulfil your requirements/ bucket list.
