On Sunday the 17th of September, we teamed up with cruise experts Royal Caribbean and threw our biggest family event to date: Ride the Tide, showcasing the best choices for family cruising, on a day filled with laughter, music, water rides, and prizes.
Hosted at Retallack Away Resort, chosen for their fantastic family facilities and renowned Flow Rider and Aqua Park, it was the perfect location for our team of travel experts to bring the Caribbean to Cornwall!
In true British summer style, the day kickstarted with a thunderous storm. This wasn’t quite how most picture the Caribbean but this didn’t deter the Cornish community from getting into their wetsuits and diving into Retallack’s water attractions!
Musical Magic: Steel Appeal Steel Drum Band
As families arrived at Retallack Resort, they were greeted by the enchanting melodies of the Steel Appeal steel drum band. The music created an atmosphere that instantly transported guests to the sunny shores of the Caribbean, building anticipation for the exciting day ahead.
Endless Family Fun
At Ride the Tide, families were granted free admission to Retallack Resort’s Flow Rider and Aqua Park, providing hours of excitement for the guests in the water and spectators watching. The cheers and giggles of guests riding the waves and conquering the Aqua Park echoed throughout the day.
Our Kids Club was a hub of activity. The donut wall, with its colourful and delicious treats, was an instant hit. Kids could fill their bags with an assortment of sweets from the pick-and-mix station. The fun didn’t stop there; various games and activities were organised to keep the little ones engaged and entertained throughout the event.
